Job summary

Qualifications

• Age 16+
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must complete mandatory employee training within the first 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under supervision to support and reinforce objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional to meet health care needs of students.
• Assists data collection and monitoring of student progress.
• Assists students with self-care activities to maintain personal hygiene.
• Assists students with lesson assignments to reinforce learning concepts and academic goals.
• Attends trainings and meetings to acquire and convey information related to job functions.
• Communicates with supervising staff to evaluate progress and implement IEP/504 objectives.
• Demonstrates appropriate role modeling for social and interpersonal development.
• Implements behavioral plans identified in student IEPs under supervision.
• Maintains instructional materials, records, and classroom equipment.
• Monitors students in various school environments for safety and learning environment.
• Performs clerical duties to ensure efficient operations.
• Provides instruction to students in individual and group activities to reinforce objectives and 504/IEP plans.
• Reports observations and incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Supervises and escorts students to/from classes for safety.
