Job summary

North Central University seeks an Elementary Pre-Service Field Experience Supervisor to mentor and evaluate elementary teacher candidates as they complete clinical experiences and student teaching in partner schools.

The role involves coordinating observations, reviewing lesson plans, and delivering constructive feedback to support candidates’ professional growth within a Christ-centered university setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field required.
• Current or previous elementary teaching license required.
• Minimum of three years of successful elementary classroom teaching experience.
• Master’s degree in Education or related field preferred.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, or supervising pre-service teachers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned elementary pre-service teachers during clinical experiences and/or student teaching.
• Conduct required classroom observations at partner school sites.
• Review lesson plans, instructional materials, assessments, and other documentation.
• Provide timely, specific, and constructive feedback to strengthen instructional planning, delivery, classroom management, and professional practice dispositions.
• Complete required observation forms, evaluations, rubrics, and other program documentation.
• Meet with teacher candidates before and/or after observations to discuss strengths and goals.
• Communicate regularly with cooperating teachers regarding candidate progress and expectations.
