Job summary

Northeastern University in Boston seeks a Pre-Practicum University Supervisor to observe and document teacher candidates' demonstration of professional competencies in line with Massachusetts standards, supporting developing practice alongside cooperating teachers.

You will schedule observations, provide timely feedback, manage paperwork, and coordinate with licensure and field placement offices to ensure adherence to deadlines.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates supervisory knowledge of subject matter and teaching methodology.
• Master’s degree in Education or related field.
• Minimum five years teaching and/or administrative experience.
• Proficiency with basic technology and online data management system.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, facilitate & participate in observations with candidates and Host Teachers.
• Provide verbal and written feedback in a timely manner.
• Complete and submit necessary paperwork, assessments, and evaluations with strict deadlines.
• Work with candidates to align University curriculum with school philosophy.
• Monitor candidates’ progress and provide support.
• Communicate regularly with Office of Licensure and Field Placement.
• Identify areas of concern.
• Attend orientations and other scheduled meetings as necessary.
