Job summary

Wheaton College in Norton, MA seeks a Practicum Program Supervisor (Elementary/Early Childhood) to serve as the primary liaison between the college and the schools hosting student teachers.

The role guides candidate development, observes individuals 3–4 times per term, conducts pre/post-observation meetings, provides actionable feedback, and coordinates weekly cohort meetings (in-person or virtual) to support mentoring practitioners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education.
• At least 5 years of teaching experience in public schools in elementary and/or early childhood grades.
• Strong communication and organization skills and ability to work collaboratively with elementary school and university faculty.
• Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and collegiality.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Demonstrated commitment to a culture of diversity, respect, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Observe each candidate 3-4 times during the semester (during school hours).
• Conduct pre- and post-observation meetings with candidates.
• Provide actionable feedback and document progress per state requirements.
• Meet with the cohort of teacher-candidates weekly (in-person or virtual).
• Manage and complete required documentation for practicum.
