Job summary

East Side House Settlement in the Bronx seeks a Program Assistant for the COMPASS Elementary program at Mitchel Community Center. You will support daily operations, assist in curriculum implementation, supervise students, and help maintain a safe, organized learning environment.

Under the Program Director, you will collaborate with staff, engage youth, assist with parent communications, and contribute to program quality—as a hands-on, youth-focused team player committed to positive development.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 3+ years in youth services.
• Familiarity with BX communities, key stakeholders, and resources.
• Experience designing, planning, and implementing structured programs.
• Bilingual (Spanish preferred), but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of the COMPASS Program.
• Support daily program operations, including scheduling, activity implementation, and supervision of youth.
• Maintain regular communication with the Program Director, staff, DOE teachers, parents, and community partners.
• Help coordinate family engagement efforts, including newsletters, events, conferences, orientations, and outreach.
