Job summary

East Side House in the Bronx is seeking a Program Assistant to support the COMPASS Elementary Program, helping implement daily curricula and activities for youth in community settings. The role emphasizes hands-on engagement with students, collaboration with staff, and ensuring a safe, enriching environment.

You will assist with supervision during structured times, support administrative tasks, and participate in staff meetings and program improvements to meet youth development goals.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent of 3+ years in youth services.
• Familiarity with BX communities and resources.
• Ability to design, plan, and implement structured programs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordination, and implementation of the COMPASS Program.
• Support curriculum review and program design with Education Specialist.
• Oversee daily operations, scheduling, activities, and youth supervision.
• Maintain regular communication with Program Director, staff, and parents.
• Assist with onboarding, training support, and staff evaluations.
