Job summary

East Side House's COMPASS Program - Elementary seeks an Activity Specialist for the 2026-2027 school year. This seasonal, part-time role focuses on designing and leading enrichment activities for PS 154 students, with a emphasis on music, arts, sports, and health awareness.

Under supervision, you will create weekly lesson plans, supervise during snack and dismissal, and collaborate with group leaders to deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities while upholding program safety and quality

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate's college degree preferred.
• Relevant training or certification in their area of specialty.
• Two years' experience with elementary or middle school children in diverse urban communities.
• Strong classroom and behavioral management skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and engagement of students in activities.
• Develop and facilitate weekly activity lesson plans.
• Lead enrichment activities in music, visual arts, sports, or health.
• Supervise students during snack/supper, dismissal, field trips, and events.
• Collaborate with Group Leaders to develop lesson plans and support staff development.
• Maintain attendance records and complete daily administrative tasks.
