Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a Site Counselor to support elementary-age children in a dynamic afterschool setting at the Cowart Family Ashford Dunwoody YMCA.

Responsibilities include delivering planned activities, coordinating with the Site Director, maintaining attendance records, and ensuring compliance with BFTS and YMCA requirements. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• HS Diploma or equivalent and BFTS credential.
• Experience working with school-age children in a group setting.
• Licensed setting supervision of staff is a plus.
• Current CPR/First Aid training or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate the program according to BFTS and YMCA policies.
• Create activities and instruction supporting program goals.
• Report concerns to the Site Director.
• Maintain attendance records and pertinent information.
• Coordinate supply orders with the Site Director.
• Attend trainings and maintain BFTS annual training hours.
