Job summary

KIPP Capital Region is hiring an Academic Interventionist to support students through tutoring, coaching, and data-driven interventions across Albany and Troy, NY. The role emphasizes collaborative practice, documentation, and strong pedagogy to improve academic performance and student growth.

Required is a Bachelor's degree and NYS teaching licensure with at least two years of teaching experience, preferably in charter or urban schools. Flexibility in schedule is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
• Valid NYS teaching licensure or willingness to pursue state certification.
• Minimum of two years of experience as a school educator, preferably in a charter or public school.
• Experience in urban communities is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule outside regular hours.
• Ability to foster an inclusive environment honoring diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop academic lesson plans based on students' learning needs.
• Use data to drive student improvement and engagement.
• Provide daily feedback on mastery in academics and character.
• Lead small-group tutoring, coaching, and goal-setting.
• Perform routine administrative tasks and data entry.
• Collaborate with school staff and maintain positive student rapport.

Education

Bachelor's Degree (required)

NYS Teaching Licensure

Two years teaching experience
