Job summary

KIPP Capital Region is seeking a Behavior Interventionist for our Albany, NY schools. The role focuses on leading behavioral support to help students grow intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially.

Responsibilities include coordinating behavioral activities, guiding staff on student needs, and collaborating with Student Support to ensure IEP/504 plans have necessary support, while helping maintain a positive school culture and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; HS diploma/ GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of assistant/aide experience with youth.
• Experience in urban schools or communities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, provide, and supervise behavioral activities for students.
• Advise Teachers to meet students' needs, including those with special needs.
• Manage and reduce risk within the classroom with Lead teacher support.
• Support establishing a positive, structured school culture with the Dean of Scholars/Students.
• Assist in ensuring students with IEPs, 504s, and behavior plans receive needed support.
• Help implement positive school behavior rewards and consequences.
