Job summary

KIPP Capital Region in Albany, NY is seeking a Behavior Interventionist to lead behavioral support for students' intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. You will coordinate, provide, and supervise behavioral activities and work with teachers to meet students' needs, including those with IEPs.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree preferred and at least 1 year of classroom experience; flexible hours and commitment to inclusive education are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; High School Diploma/GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of successful experience as an assistant/aide in a classroom setting or equivalent dealing with youth.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule outside of regular business hours.
• Aptitude to create and work within an inclusive environment that honors and supports a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, provides, and supervises behavioral activities for students.
• Provide guidance to Teachers to ensure staff meet students' needs, including those with special needs.
• Responsible for managing and reducing risk within the classroom with support from the Lead teacher.
• Work closely with the Dean of Scholars/Students to establish a positive school culture.
• Assist in partnership with the Director of Student Support Services to support students with IEPs, 504s, and behavior plans.
