Job summary

KIPP Capital Region is seeking a Behavior Interventionist to lead behavioral support for students across Albany and Troy. The role focuses on helping students grow intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially, in collaboration with teachers and support staff.

You will coordinate behavioral activities, guide teachers on student needs, and help implement behavior plans, while contributing to a positive school culture and safe environment for all students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; High School Diploma/GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of successful experience as an assistant/aide in a classroom setting or equivalent dealing with youth.
• Prior experience working in schools and urban communities is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule outside of regular business hours.
• Aptitude to create and work within an inclusive environment that honors and supports a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates, provides, and supervises behavioral activities for students.
• Provide guidance to Teachers to ensure staff meet students' needs, especially those with disabilities.
• Manage and reduce risk within the classroom with support of Lead teacher.
• Work with Dean of Scholars/Students to build a positive school culture.
• Support students with IEPs, 504s, and behavior plans to help them succeed.
• Assist implementing positive school reward systems and behavior plans.
• Collaborate with Student Support team, Teachers, Parents, and Students on support plans.
• Implement and monitor behavior intervention plans and school-wide behavior plan.
