Job summary

The Panther Group in Clearwater, FL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our client’s engineering team to improve processes for circuit card assemblies (CCAs), cable assemblies, and modules within a high-reliability aerospace and defense manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidate will have experience with electronics or mechanical assembly manufacturing, process improvement, Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, and manufacturing documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly manufacturing processes, materials, and QC methods.
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
• Ability to work in fast-paced manufacturing with changing priorities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to guide production teams with technical guidance.
• Ability to stand/walk on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes for CCAs, cable assemblies, and modules.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve quality and reliability.
• Lead and support process improvement initiatives in manufacturing.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other CI methodologies to processes.
• Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing documentation (SOPs, work instructions, templates).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes.
• Conduct trials and experiments to validate improvements.
• Provide technical support and guidance to production personnel.
• Train and mentor production staff on new processes.
• Develop and track KPIs to evaluate process effectiveness.
• Support troubleshooting of equipment and processes on the floor.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and quality objectives.
