An industry leader in high-precision instrumentation is seeking an experienced and hands-on Electronics Design Engineer to join its innovative, multi-disciplinary engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete design and development of complex electronic systems, supporting the creation of cutting-edge technology solutions used across critical industries.
This is a key engineering role involving hands-on PCB design, analogue/digital electronics development, and close interaction with firmware, software, and mechanical design teams throughout the entire product lifecycle.
Lead the end-to-end design of complex, multi-layer PCBs,with proficiency in analogue and digital circuit design, using Cadence OrCAD and Allegro PCB Editor.
Design bespoke, high-precision test and machine probing cabling using DraftSight or AutoCAD, supporting signal ranges from microvolts to 15kV and femtoamps to 100A.
Create and manage engineering documentation including BOMs, ECOs, and build instructions, ensuring traceability and adherence to ISO-compliant processes.
Develop custom circuit solutions to meet specific customer requirements while leveraging a modular platform architecture.
Conduct fault diagnosis and remediation on legacy products, contributing to continuous product improvement.
Maintain product compliance with CE, EMC, and UL standards, and manage equipment certification for EU conformity.
Collaborate on R&D initiatives, from proof of concept to production-ready designs, supporting innovation and time-to-market goals.
Support production teams with debugging, quality control, and test fixture development, ensuring robust and scalable manufacturing.
Work closely with firmware/software engineers, integrating embedded microcontroller-based systems and developing or supporting firmware in C/C++.
Liaise with sales and application engineers to translate customer specifications into viable, cost-effective electrical designs.
Contribute to internal risk assessments, ensuring health & safety and electrical regulation compliance.
Degree-qualified in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
Strong background in analogue/digital design, including high-speed digital circuitry and mixed-signal environments.
Experience with microprocessor/microcontroller-based systems, including low-level firmware development (C/C++).
Familiar with stepper motor drive design and power supply topologies.
Hands‑on experience with lab test equipment (e.g., Keithley, Tektronix, Keysight).
Proven ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.
Experience in semiconductor, precision instrumentation, or RF‑aware hardware environments.
Understanding of EMC design principles, signal integrity, and PCB layout for noise reduction.
Familiarity with CE, UL certification, and regulatory compliance standards.
