Vogrinc Search Group is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the New Product Development team for a well-respected manufacturer of highly engineered equipment used in demanding, real-world applications where reliability, performance, and safety are critical.

This is a hands-on engineering position for taking an idea from concept through electrical design, prototyping, testing, refinement, and production.

Qualifications

  • Design experience with PCBs and schematic captures.
  • Hands-on embedded firmware development experience.
  • Ability to read and create schematics, layouts, and prints.
  • Experience with ruggedized/industrial or automotive-type products preferred.
  • Experience with regulatory testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic and electromechanical products from concept through production.
  • Create and modify electrical schematics and PCB designs.
  • Develop and troubleshoot embedded firmware.
  • Prototype, test, analyze, and refine designs.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality to improve reliability.
  • Support sustaining engineering and product improvements.
  • Develop specifications, test procedures, and controlled drawings.

Job description

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the New Product Development team for a well-respected manufacturer of highly engineered equipment used in demanding, real-world applications where reliability, performance, and safety are critical. This is a hands‑on engineering position for someone who enjoys taking an idea from concept through electrical design, prototyping, testing, refinement, and production.

If you have experience designing PCBs, developing embedded firmware, and bringing electronic products to life, this is an opportunity to have significant ownership and impact.

What You'll Do
  • Design and develop new electronic and electromechanical products from concept through production
  • Create and modify electrical schematics and PCB designs
  • Select electronic components and develop production‑ready circuit designs
  • Develop and troubleshoot embedded firmware
  • Prototype, test, analyze, and refine new product designs
  • Work with motors, actuators, controllers, sensors, and DC power systems
  • Integrate electronic systems with vehicle and equipment interfaces
  • Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and system‑level issues
  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality to improve product reliability, manufacturability, and performance
  • Support sustaining engineering and improvements to existing products
  • Develop specifications, test procedures, engineering documentation, BOMs, and controlled drawings
  • Work with vendors and customers on technical issues when needed
  • Support regulatory testing, certifications, and industry standards
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional electronic product design experience
  • Hands‑on experience with PCB design and schematic development
  • Experience with embedded programming/firmware development
  • Working knowledge of electromechanical systems and DC motor control preferred
  • Experience designing products for vehicular, portable, or DC-powered applications preferred
  • Ability to read and create schematics, layouts, prints, and technical specifications
  • Experience using electronic test equipment and troubleshooting hardware
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and work with minimal supervision
  • Experience designing ruggedized, industrial, automotive, or safety‑critical product preferred
  • Hands‑on experience with RS‑485 and J1939 CANbus preferred
  • PCB soldering, rework, and troubleshooting preferred
  • UL, CE, FCC, or other regulatory testing/certification preferred
