Job summary

Ascension Health is seeking an Electroencephalographic Technician to support the Neurodiagnostic Lab at Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

The role involves attaching electrodes, reviewing records, monitoring patients, and reporting abnormal findings during EEG procedures. The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma with related experience or an Associate's/Technical degree, ABRET credentialing preferred, and BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years cumulative experience required.
• Associate's degree or technical degree; or 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• ABRET EEG credentialing and BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attach, connect, and operate electrodes from specified body areas to leads from electroencephalograph machine.
• Review patient's record and instruct patients prior to procedures. Monitor patient during procedures and report any abnormal findings.
• Identify and correct for artifacts. Edit and forward results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
• Maintain EEG equipment and supplies.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.




• Electroencephalographic Technician credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) preferred.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences:

• Certificate from an accredited Neurodiagnostic program preferred




• At least one year of experience preferred
