Job summary

RTX is seeking an Electro-Optical Systems Engineer to join the EOSD team in McKinney, TX. The role focuses on developing requirements, assessing architectures, and supporting design and IV&V activities for advanced electro-optical systems including imagers, LIDAR, and directed energy projects.

The position requires a STEM degree and hands-on optical testing experience, with a DoD Secret clearance and onsite work in Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Optical, STEM or Math obtained by start date.
• Experience with electro-optical infrared imagery, focal plane technology, lenses or apertures.
• Experience with fundamental optical principles including geometrical optics, physical optics, imaging systems, aberrations or detectors.
• Hands-on experience through coursework or lab work with optical testing or alignment.

Responsibilities

• Assess systems architecture, derive design and performance requirements, and support IV&V activities for EOS hardware and subsystems.
