Job summary

RTX is seeking an Electro-Optical Systems Engineer in McKinney, TX to support the Advanced Products & Solutions Mission Area. You will contribute to architecture assessment, requirements development, and design/build activities for electro-optical systems such as imagers and LIDAR.

The role requires a STEM degree and hands-on optical experience, with preferred knowledge in C++/Python and MATLAB. This is an onsite position with DoD security clearance, offering relocation eligibility and a

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Physics, Optical, Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) obtained by start date.
Experience with electro-optical infrared imagery, focal plane technology, lenses, or apertures.
Experience with fundamental optical principles including geometrical optics, physical optics, imaging systems, aberrations, or detectors.

Responsibilities

Assess systems architecture, develop requirements for EO systems, and support design and build efforts.
Derive design and performance requirements for subsystem and unit levels from mission/system requirements.
Assist in IV&V plan creation and verification/testing activities to meet program requirements.
