Job summary

SPX Technologies is seeking an entry-level Wirer to assemble heater unit codes and fabricate components per work order, blueprint, and engineering specs.

The role requires basic wiring/layout skills and may involve ASME brazing procedures certification. It is part of the Electric Heat business, with opportunities to contribute to a range of baseboard, wall, unit, and infrared heaters.

Qualifications

• One to three months related experience and/or training
• ASME brazing procedures certification (BPS-B1 to BPS-B5)
• High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Lays out diagram for electrical installations according to wiring specifications.
• Drills and taps holes in specified locations for mounting control units.
• Attaches breakers, relays, connectors, bus bars, transformers, and insulators.
• Hydro test per specification.
• Paints product as necessary.
• Installs and wires Thermostats and other options.
• Fabricates bussing, and solders connections.
• Tests and adjusts electrical components.
• Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervision or engineering to clarify assembly problems.

Education

ASME brazing procedures certification (BPS-B1, BPS-B2, BPS-B3, BPS-B4, BPS-B5)

High school diploma or GED
