Job summary

Vertiv Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to conduct high‑voltage power testing and analysis across regional and national projects. The role involves leadership on test teams, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring compliance with NETA, NFPA, and OSHA standards. Travel up to 75% is required.

Base compensation is up to $95/hour with a strong benefits package, signing bonus, and long-term career growth within Vertiv’s ERS/HVM divisions.

Qualifications

• Current NETA Level III or IV certification is required.
• 7+ years of hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Proficiency with NETA MTS/ATS standards and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements.
