Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer – Electrical Testing (NETA Level III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on high voltage systems up to 500kV. You will lead test activities, mentor junior technicians, and ensure compliance with NETA standards.

The role requires 7+ years of HV testing experience, NETA certifications, and proficiency with major test equipment. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Atlanta, GA, with substantial travel and a competitive

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• NETA Level III or IV certification, current and in good standing.
• Strong knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
• Experience with test equipment: Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF.
• Ability to read one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems and equipment up to 500kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field.
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements
