Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Field Engineer – Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to perform acceptance, commissioning and maintenance testing on high-voltage power systems. You will lead technical activities, mentor junior technicians, and ensure compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards across regional projects.

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification (current and in good standing)
• 7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments
• Expert knowledge of NETA MTS and ATS standards
• Proficiency with test equipment including Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF
• Ability to read and interpret one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 75%

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based)
• Perform insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers
• Interpret and analyze test results; author comprehensive engineering reports with findings and recommendations
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions
• Mentor and train Level I/II technicians in the field
• Serve as technical lead on multi-discipline project teams
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS standards, NFPA 70E, and OSHA safety requirements
