Job summary

RTX is seeking a hands-on hardware test engineer to design, build, and integrate advanced electrical test systems for defense products. You will develop schematics, PCBs, and fixtures and validate performance across development and production environments.

The role requires an advanced STEM degree, experience with circuit design tools, lab measurement equipment, and programming for test automation. Security clearance is required for this U.S.-based position.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM; degree must be obtained by start date.
• Experience selecting and integrating passive and active components in analog or digital designs.
• Experience operating lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power meters) to test hardware and measure signals.
• GPA 3.0+ from ABET-accredited institution.
• Circuit design and simulation tools (PSPICE, LTspice, Keysight ADS).
• Programming in Python, C/C++, or MATLAB for test automation.
• Experience creating engineering documentation and presentations.
• Diagnostic problem-solving in hardware development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate electrical test products and fixtures.
• Create schematics, PCB layouts, and engineering documentation.
• Validate hardware using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, power meters).
• Diagnose and resolve hardware integration issues across environments.
• Support projects to meet technical, schedule, and budget goals.
• Collaborate with systems, mechanical, software, and reliability engineers.
