Job summary

BIC World in Connecticut is seeking a 3rd shift Electrical/Controls Technician to join our manufacturing team. You will read schematics, program PLCs (Allen Bradley preferred), assemble and wire control panels, and troubleshoot with meters and scopes.

Expect exposure to NEC practices and high-reliability systems. The role requires five years of trade experience, a CT E2 license, and comfort with heights and industrial equipment.

Qualifications

• Electrical Technical School Graduate or Trade/Military equivalent.
• Five years minimum trade experience.
• Current State of Connecticut E2 License or above.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand schematics and PLC programs, Allen Bradley preferred.
• Assemble and wire new control panels per NEC and engineer instructions.
• Use voltmeter, ammeter, oscilloscope for troubleshooting and draw schematics.
• Work with sensors (photoelectric, proximity, hall effect, reed switches) and actuators; determine output sinking or sourcing.
• Recordkeeping, clear communication, and problem analysis.
• Operate power tools and perform soldering as needed.
• Use PC DOS and Windows; understand serial, Ethernet and LAN communications.
• Work at heights up to 40 feet occasionally.
• Operate forklifts, man lifts, cherry pickers and other industrial vehicles.
• Perform similar or related work as required.
