Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Clinton, NC is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems plant-wide. You will troubleshoot issues, follow GMPs, and collaborate with maintenance teams to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires an Associate's degree or equivalent and 2+ years of experience, PLC experience is highly valued, and fluency in English is mandatory. Forklift operation and safe, independent work are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and 2+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• PLC experience highly desired.
• Must be able to read and write fluently in English to communicate and understand technical/ training manuals written in English.
• Possess the ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of team personnel and outside contractors.
• Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift or scissor lift preferred.
• Displays sound judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Electrical System Maintenance: Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems like motors, control panels, lighting, wiring, and power distribution; perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose and repair electrical issues to minimize downtime and keep production flowing.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow safety protocols and comply with electrical codes and regulations to maintain a safe workplace.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work with maintenance and plant teams; coordinate with Maintenance Supervisor and document activities clearly.
• General Plant Support: Troubleshoot and repair machinery and infrastructure; assist during emergencies and equipment upgrades.
