Job summary

The Building People is seeking an Electrical Technician to support a federal Agency in Edwards, CA. This full-time role emphasizes electrical maintenance, high voltage work, and safety compliance on mission-critical facilities.

You will interpret wiring diagrams, read blueprints, and assist in complex troubleshooting while mentoring junior technicians. A minimum of five years journeyman experience and ANSI/NETA/NICET certification are required; a signing bonus may be available.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of commercial journeyman level experience.
• Must hold ANSI/NETA certification or NICET Electrical Power Testing certification when working on electrical switch gear.
• Experience testing, repairing, and maintaining electric-generating equipment in co-generation and emergency power production facilities that generate up to 12,470 volts.
• Experience installing, modifying, testing, repairing, and troubleshooting generators, transformers, converters, regulators, switches, circuit breakers, lightning arresters, and related power equipment.

Responsibilities

• Performs all the duties of an Electronics Technician I, in addition to the following.
• Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
• Receives technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician, and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
• May provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
• Applies technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions.
• Replaces components and wiring circuits; repairs electrical equipment; takes test readings using instruments such as multimeters, signal generators, testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.
