Job summary

CoVolt Power in Texas is seeking an Outdoor Solar Construction Technician to support electrical and cabling installations at solar sites. You will splice DC/MV cables, install SCADA equipment, and complete combiner box tasks while maintaining safety and accuracy.

The role requires working outdoors in varied weather, lifting heavy materials, and collaborating with crews to meet project timelines. Prior solar construction experience is preferred; GED or equivalent education is acceptable.

Qualifications

• GED or equivalent education preferred.
• Experience on solar construction projects preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and maneuver materials.
• Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Able to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Safety-conscious and able to receive feedback.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform DC splice, MV splice, and SCADA equipment install.
• CAB install and Combiner Box install/termination.
• Labeling and fiber termination tasks as required.
• Follow LOTO procedures and conduct IR scanning as needed.
• Conduct site surveys and as-built documentation.

Skills/Abilities:

• Able to lift 50+ (?) pound materials, maneuvering them into their proper places

• Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time
• Able to follow precise instruction and receive feedback
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work well with others, including colleagues and supervisors
• Experience working on solar construction projects preferred
• This position requires working outdoors in various, often extreme weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
• Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits.
• This position may also include exposure to loud noises, dust, debris, and other construction-related hazards

Education:

• GED or equivalent education preferred
