Job summary

Under general supervision, the inspector reviews permits, inspects finished work and work in process, keeps records, and reports violations. The role contributes to public safety and city infrastructure through diligent inspection and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Makes inspection of electric wiring, electric signs, and the installation of electric motors and other equipment to insure compliance with laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
• Inspects finished work and work in process.
• Examines permits for the installation of electrical equipment.
• Keeps necessary records.
• Reports violations and non-compliance with laws, ordinances, rules, regulations.
• Prepares reports.
