Job summary

Regional Planning & Coordinating Commission of Greene County, Ohio seeks an Electrical Safety Inspector (ESI) to perform thorough electrical inspections across commercial, industrial, residential, and agricultural settings. The role ensures compliance with NEC and related codes while prioritizing safety and quality customer service.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 5 years journeyman-level inspection experience, and a valid Ohio driver’s license; interim/certification

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; 5 years journeyman level experience in building inspections.
Valid Ohio Driver's License required.
Education/experience may not substitute mandated licensure/certification.

Responsibilities

Performs electrical inspections of commercial, industrial, residential & agricultural buildings, towers, and public street assets; verifies NEC code compliance.
Provides guidance to contractors, engineers, architects, inspectors & owners on electrical code and practices.
Reviews residential/commercial plans for permit and NEC compliance; conducts quality control inspections of electrical materials and devices.
Performs office duties such as entering dimensions into RES Check or Com Check programs; analyzes electrical load calculations.
