The role requires a high school equivalent diploma, Ohio Level 3 Inspector Certification with Electrical Safety endorsement preferred, and a valid Ohio driver’s license. Work involves travel to various sites and standing up to 60 pounds repeatedly.

Qualifications

• Completion of a high school equivalent education.
• Must possess a valid Ohio Board of Building Standards Level 3 Inspector Certification with a preference for Electrical Safety Inspector endorsement.
• Must possess a valid State of Ohio vehicle operator’s license.
• Knowledge of state and local building codes; ability to read and interpret plans; ability to carry out written or verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and conducts inspections of industrial, residential and commercial facilities to ensure compliance with local and state building codes; reviews plans and ensures construction meets specifications required by plans; reinspects equipment and facilities as required; gives final approval to projects.
• Compiles detailed notes on each inspection conducted; prepares reports on work activities and inspections; provides advice to stakeholders regarding code compliance.
