Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking an experienced Project Manager to provide overall leadership for electrical projects up to $10 million. You will coordinate with superintendents, staff key roles, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.

The role requires 5–10 years in construction design, finance, and management, plus OSHA-30. You will negotiate subcontracts, manage risks, and drive profitable, high-quality project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or construction science or equivalent
• OSHA-30 certification required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire
• 5–10 years of construction design, finance, and management experience
• Strong understanding of corporate and industry practices and their impact on projects
• Proven project management skills: documentation, cost control, procurement, scheduling, change orders, negotiating

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned electrical projects up to $10M in collaboration with the project superintendent
• Plan, staff, and manage project teams across departments
• Establish objectives and performance standards per Southland policy
• Coordinate with clients and A/E contacts to schedule and execute construction activities
• Negotiate and issue subcontracts
• Maintain master schedule and variance reports to meet schedule and budget
• Manage contract costs, billings, cash flow and profitability
• Identify and mitigate risks; pursue change orders
• Maintain document control per contract; attend progress meetings
• Mentor other project managers; perform additional duties as needed
