Job summary

IMEG Corporation seeks an Electrical Project Designer in Raleigh, NC to lead design for low to moderate complexity projects and mentor team members. The role supports education and government work, aligning with high-performance, energy-efficient design standards.

Travel up to 15% and a full-time, in-office schedule are noted. Ideal candidates hold a BS in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and 5 years of experience; BIM/engineering certificates are a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• 5 years minimum in building design consulting; 6 years preferred.
• Or 9 years in building design consulting or construction, 10 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical system analysis and design for low–moderate complexity projects.
• Create detailed designs, specs and calculations per code and IMEG standards.
• Gather requirements, communicate technical info, and build client relationships.
• Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and design progress monitoring.
• Document design decisions, client instructions, and fee expended.
• Analyze problems and collaborate with senior engineers for practical solutions.
• Conduct in-process reviews and apply quality-control processes.
• Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Identify safety risks and mitigate them in electrical systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and oversee projects through bidding and construction administration.
