Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Preconstruction Manager - Electrical to bridge design and construction on major industrial projects. The role coordinates internal teams and contractors to develop comprehensive bid packages and ensure constructability during site execution.

Up to 50% travel within the US is expected, with preference for candidates near a Jacobs office. Requires 8+ years in Electrical engineering or 15+ years in construction management, a bachelor’s degree in engineering, strong

Qualifications

Minimum 8 years experience in Electrical engineering or 15 years in construction management for industrial projects.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training.
General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards.
Experience interpreting electrical engineering design drawings and specifications for construction purposes.
Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership resolving in-progress design and constructability concerns related to engineering drawings and specifications.
Identify opportunities for schedule and cost savings based on existing design or modularization capabilities.
Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design phase.
Organize cross-discipline evaluation of electrical scope for construction sequencing.
Identify risks for long lead construction activities and synchronize with design and schedule.
