Job summary

Hoar Construction is seeking an Electrical Preconstruction Manager to lead conceptual budgeting and detailed estimating for electrical, low voltage, lighting, and related systems on multiple projects. The role requires deep knowledge of cost estimation, coordination with manufacturers and vendors, and the ability to train and manage others.

Travel up to 10% may be required, and you will work with the HPM team to ensure accurate scope and pricing from early concept to detailed estimates based on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in building science, construction management, mechanical or electrical engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost budgets for electrical and related systems including planning quantity surveys and scope sheets.
• Prepare and maintain electrical project estimates and related Value Optimization options.
• Communicate with manufacturers, vendors, GCs, and owners throughout preconstruction to ensure scope and pricing accuracy.
• Confer with stakeholders on changes to cost estimates.
• Solicit and maintain communication with subcontractors and vendors.
• Review drawings for discrepancies and highlight issues.
• Prepare quantity surveys using 2D/3D tools.
• Research industry trends and changes in materials, codes and pricing.
• Train and manage a team to provide conceptual budgets and iterative detailed estimates.
