Job summary

Stinson LLP seeks an experienced patent agent to join the patent prosecution group within the Intellectual Property and Technology Division in Washington, DC. You will draft and prosecute US and foreign patent applications, perform patentability assessments, and assist with freedom-to-operate and due diligence analyses.

The role requires a technical background in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years patent experience, with strong writing and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
• Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Minimum 5 years of patent preparation and prosecution
• Experience managing patent prosecution docket and ownership of applications
• Experience collaborating with supervising partners and staff
• Law firm or in-house IP experience

Responsibilities

• Draft and prosecute US and foreign patent applications
• Provide patentability assessments and due diligence
• Coordinate with foreign firms for foreign filings
• Communicate with clients on deadlines and documents
• Meet 1650 billable hours per year
• Perform other duties as assigned
