Job summary

nVent in Minnesota seeks a Maintenance Technician to perform electrical and mechanical work on plant equipment, install, maintain, and repair production machinery, and support facilities.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED plus 2+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing, with strong safety awareness and ability to read drawings. Shift is Mon-Fri 6:00AM-2:30PM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of mechanical maintenance experience is required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Experience using computers / computer applications is required.
• No corrective actions or performance improvement plans within six months of the posting date.
• No decision-making leaves within 12 months of the posting date.
• Most recent performance rating of 4.0 or greater is preferred.
• Successfully completed six months in current job bid classification or current career advancement classification.

Responsibilities

• Perform and record preventive maintenance on all production equipment.
• Repair and maintain all production equipment as required.
• Maintain an adequate supply of spare parts for repairs and PMs.
• Move, anchor, and align production machines as requested.
• Observe safety rules and report hazards to Supervisor.
• Notify maintenance supervisors and value stream managers when problems arise.
• Install and maintain electrical equipment integral to production machines.
• Diagnose machine malfunctions and implement repairs and adjustments.
• Make emergency repairs to limit downtime and production delays.
• Perform periodic preventative maintenance checks and lubricate machinery.
• Build equipment parts and experimental machines to work order specs.
• Coordinate material requisitions for each project.
• Test circuits with testing equipment and report findings.
