Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products in Jackson, MS is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair production equipment. You will develop maintenance programs to ensure reliability, reduce downtime, and control costs, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

The role requires 5+ years of industrial electrical experience, PLC knowledge (Allen-Bradley), and the ability to read blueprints. Candidates must meet physical demands and demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Journeyman licensed with 5+ years in industrial electrical maintenance.
• PLC experience, preferably Allen-Bradley systems.
• Strong electrical knowledge and fault-finding ability.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical control for manufacturing equipment.
• Install or assist installation of new equipment with proper layout.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections.
• Read blueprints and schematics to diagnose issues.
• Identify and implement solutions for safety, quality, productivity improvements.
• Roll Grinder duties to support coating quality and paint line production.
• Communicate repair steps and parts status to plant personnel.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and organize tools and parts.
• Engage in cross-functional maintenance training and knowledge sharing.
