Job summary

GTI Fabrication’s Buffalo site seeks an Electrical Lead to supervise electricians, plan and prioritize electrical work, and ensure safe, code-compliant installations and maintenance for manufacturing equipment and facilities.

The role emphasizes leadership, electrical troubleshooting, and collaboration with maintenance and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program.
• Valid electrician license or certification per New York State requirements.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on electrical experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Previous experience leading or supervising electricians in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC and OSHA safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of electricians and electrical technicians within the manufacturing facility.
• Plan, schedule, and assign electrical work to support production, maintenance, and capital projects.
• Ensure all electrical installations, repairs, and modifications comply with NEC, OSHA, and company safety policies.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical issues related to manufacturing equipment, controls, and facility systems.
• Perform and oversee inspections, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to minimize downtime and support operational goals.
• Train team members on safe work practices, procedures, and technical skills.
• Maintain accurate documentation including work orders, inspections, safety records, and compliance reports.
• Manage electrical materials, tools, and inventory to ensure availability and cost control.
