Job summary

Georgia-Pacific Corrugated in Augusta, GA is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join our Maintenance team. You will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and install plant electrical, instrumentation, and automation equipment, supporting uptime and product quality.

Candidates should have five years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, strong reading of schematics, and experience with PLC, HMI, DCS systems; a two-year degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of electrical or instrumentation troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PLCs, motor controls, control valves, electrical distribution, servo systems, and DC/AC motors from 24 VDC to 480 VDC.
• Expert reading of electric schematics/blueprints.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 arc flash electrical safety and OSHA regulations.
• Experience installing/calibrating/monitoring/ modifying HMI and DCS instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair plant electrical, instrumentation and automation equipment.
• Resolve downtime events quickly and effectively.
• Support operations in maintaining machines at centerline conditions and standard operating speeds.
• Install, calibrate, monitor, program, and maintain PLC, HMI and DCS control instrumentation.
• Read electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Maintain instrumentation and electrical systems.
