Job summary

Georgia-Pacific's Augusta facility is seeking a safety-minded Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join the Maintenance team. The role includes troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration of plant electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems in a corrugated packaging operation.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in electrical/instrument control within manufacturing, with experience reading schematics, and knowledge of NFPA 70 and OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• Five years or more of electrical or instrument and control troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial controls PLCs, motor controls, control valves, electrical distribution, servo systems, and both DC and AC motors from 24 VDC to 480 VDC.
• Expert level experience reading electrical schematics/blueprints.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 arc flash electrical safety and OSHA regulations.
• Experience installing, calibrating, monitoring, modifying, programming, and maintaining HMI and DCS instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair plant electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and automation equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and calibration.
• Install, calibrate, monitor, modify, program, and maintain PLC, HMI, and DCS control instrumentation.
• Identify and initiate maintenance repairs to sustain equipment performance.
• Use specialized software and equipment to maintain instrumentation and controls.
• Operate and train HMI and robotics system controls.
• Manage EI projects for new or existing installations.
