Job summary

Reworld is hiring an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair power plant equipment, including boilers, electrical and control systems, and associated instrumentation up to 13.8 kV. The role covers switchgear, motor control centers, energy-from-waste systems, and DCS/historian devices.

Responsibilities include commissioning, inspection, calibration, thermography, and ensuring safe operations while meeting project timelines. 12-hour rotating shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Formal technical or apprentice training, preferred.
• Must be able to work 12 hour rotating shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and testing of low and medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, motor starters, and power transformers.
• Perform maintenance of higher voltage switchyard equipment and steam turbine driven generators.
• Perform electrical maintenance work related to energy from waste boilers and its associated equipment, including pumps, fans, motors, conveyors & refuse cranes.
• Perform electrical maintenance work related to energy from waste air pollution control systems.
• Troubleshoot, assess, inspect, and adjust CEMS and related instrumentation (transmitters, level controls, temperature, flue gas analyzers).
• Troubleshoot DCS and historian devices; maintain calibration, thermography, and ultrasonic testing.
• Operate calibration equipment and perform electrical/instrumentation maintenance per safety practices.
• Complete maintenance records and participate in plant shutdown work and housekeeping.
• Complete safety training and other required certifications within timelines.
