Job summary

City of Gillette is seeking a skilled professional to design and manage the construction of electrical infrastructure and fiber networks. You will coordinate with contractors, review proposals, and ensure project records are complete and accurate.

The role involves leveraging GIS data, state and local codes, and budget considerations to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions for city utilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred or 3-5 years of related education and experience.
• Experience to understand basic principles relevant to the major duties, usually with apprenticeship/internship or similar position for 1–2 years.
• Possession of or ability to obtain valid Wyoming driver's license for the vehicle/equipment operated.
• Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs, coordinates, and manages electrical infrastructure projects from conception to implementation.
• Plans engineering projects for electrical systems and analyzes viability, cost, and needs.
• Maintains and updates electrical and fiber models; updates GIS database and related records.
