Job summary

Black Hills Energy is seeking a driven, organized professional to design and provide project management for assigned capital and maintenance projects on utility distribution systems in Gillette, WY. You will ensure customers receive superior service in line with BHE standards and policies.

Responsibilities include planning, designing, coordinating service installations, and leading internal and contractor teams while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering, business, construction management or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in construction planning, utility operations, project management or related experience.
• Strong construction management skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to monitor multiple projects concurrently.
• Ability to plan, organize, and lead a crew safely and efficiently.
• Must hold a valid driver's license and driving record meeting standards.
• Travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Design utility distribution overhead and underground systems per BHE standards and codes.
• Plan and coordinate customer requirements for service installations and main extensions.
• Prepare construction plans and obtain rights-of-way, easements, and permits; survey and stake facilities.
• Communicate construction policies to customers and work to satisfy needs.
• Manage all aspects of a construction project with internal teams to ensure completion.
• Provide project leadership to contractors and crews and assist in budget input.
• Review civil plans for relocations to align with city/county/state regulations.
• Maintain a safe work environment per BHE safety policies.
