Job summary

The Foreman Electrician in Prestonsburg, KY leads a crew of Helpers, Apprentices and Journeymen, overseeing installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems on commercial and industrial projects.

You will mentor, train and evaluate the crew, read blueprints and schematics, ensure NEC compliance, develop material lists, and manage schedules to meet production and budget goals. This role requires strong problem solving and safety leadership, with overtime or weekend work as project needs.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• Ability to lead, mentor and coach teams of roughly five Helpers, Apprentices and Journeyman Electricians.
• Strong reading of project specifications, blueprints and schematics.
• Knowledge of NEC guidelines and safety practices on job sites.
• Ability to develop material lists from layouts and job site demands.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Journeyman, Helpers and Apprentices on the job site
• Work alongside their crew and ensure quality of work to the highest standards
• Assist in the development of an effective manpower schedule for their team
• Develop material lists from layouts, area prints, and job site demands
• Help achieve production and budget goals by communicating needs to the team
• Ensure all work is within local and NEC guidelines
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures and panels
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics
• Lay out work from drawings, including underground layout
• Determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits
