Job summary

Comfort Systems USA is seeking a Foreman Electrician to oversee a crew of Helpers, Apprentices, and Journeyman electricians on large commercial/industrial projects in Grand Rapids, MI. The Foreman will lead installation, alteration, and repair work, mentor the crew, and ensure safety and quality on site.

You will read blueprints and specifications, manage material lists, coordinate with supervision, and help meet production and budget goals while adhering to NEC and local codes.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• Demonstrates leadership abilities with the capability and desire to grow in this area, able to lead a five-person crew.
• Reads and understands blueprints, project specifications, and schematics.
• Communicates with other trades and negotiates work with trade supervisors.
• Reads contract-related documents of other trades on site.
• Develops and follows construction schedules for assigned scope.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Journeyman, Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
• Ensure quality of work to the highest standards.
• Assist in the development of an effective manpower schedule for their team.
• Develop material lists from layouts and job site demands and communicate lists to supervision.
• Helps achieve production and budget goals by understanding what needs to be done and communicating it to the team.
• Ensure all work by crew complies with local and NEC guidelines.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, conduit, and related components.
• Demonstrate knowledge of circuitry and read project docs.
• Lay out work from drawings including underground layout.
• Determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.
