Job summary

JDC Power Systems, LLC is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to independently troubleshoot and repair electrical infrastructure across LV/MV switchgear, transformers, PLCs, and related equipment. You will diagnose on-site with minimal supervision, support uptime, and ensure safety during all field operations.

The role requires strong communication, safety focus, and the ability to document results and coordinate with internal teams while traveling to customer sites nationwide.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in field service focusing on power systems, electrical equipment, or industrial controls.
• Proven track record troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex electrical systems/components.
• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Independently troubleshoot, service, and repair electrical infrastructure: transformers, circuit breakers, LV/MV switchgear, PLC-based controls, and related equipment.
• Diagnose issues on-site with limited oversight, driving uptime and efficiency for customers.
• Execute inspections and performance tests to verify compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers on complex calls, escalating when needed.
• Own the customer experience—translate technical findings into clear solutions and options.
• Capture thorough documentation: test results, troubleshooting steps, corrective actions, and system performance notes.
• Coordinate schedules, parts, tools, and resources with internal teams to hit deadlines.
• Maintain accurate records for service activities, inventory, time, and equipment usage.
• Leverage remote diagnostic tools; assist colleagues with remote troubleshooting.
• Lead with safety—site assessments, flag hazards, and mitigations.
