Job summary

JDC Power Systems, LLC in Sterling, VA is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, and PLC controls. You will support startups and commissioning to ensure systems meet customer specs.

Responsibilities include customer interactions, basic training, and documenting service activities. Frequent travel and a valid driver’s license are required, with a strong emphasis on safety and service

Qualifications

3–5 years hands-on field service experience with power systems or industrial controls.
Experience with transformers, circuit breakers, LV/MV switchgear, and PLC controls.
Proficient with field service software, ERP, and MS Office.
Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical issues clearly.

Responsibilities

Field Service Support: on-site troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, LV/MV switchgear, and PLC controls.
Customer Interaction and Support: serve as primary contact during visits, provide basic training, document service activities and test reports.
Operational Efficiency: track time, service work, and inventory; collaborate with technicians; use remote tools to reduce downtime.
Health and Safety Compliance: follow safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and maintain safety certifications.
