Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a project field engineer to provide field engineering specialization with work planning, material management, quantity verification, safety and quality control, and subcontract coordination on LNG plant projects along the US Gulf Coast. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5–12 years of relevant experience; mobility to future locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience, or 9–12 years of relevant work experience.
• Construction site experience on heavy industrial projects.
• Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes.

Responsibilities

• Work Planning & Packaging: Prepares construction drawings and sketches; facilitates planning construction methods and procedures.
• Material Management: Initiates requisitions for field purchases; prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
• Quantities: Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other databases.
• Safety / Quality Control: Ensures zero-accident philosophy and safety requirements are followed; equipment is in safe condition.
• Technical: Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue learning activities.
• Direct Hire: Develops understanding of system and area scoping for package development; reviews and approves inspection test plans; coordinates reviews of subcontractor submittals.
