Job summary

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a field engineer to provide project field engineering support, manage work planning and packaging, and oversee material management and turnover coordination for LNG plant projects on the US Gulf Coast.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous learning, with mobility to other units as needed. Bachelor's degree plus 2–5 years (or 6–9 years) of relevant experience required. Expect extensive site work and coordination with vendors and home office teams.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
• Understanding of structural steel design and AISC code requirements.
• Must be computer-literate; Bechtel database applications and current industry quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepares construction drawings and sketches for field use.
• Interfaces in planning construction methods and procedures.
• Initiates requisitions for field purchases and prepares quantity takeoffs.
• Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems and other databases.
• Ensures zero accident philosophy is implemented and adhered to by craft and others in operational areas.
• Develops understanding of system scoping and drawings required for package development.
• Reviews and approves inspection test plans and coordinates subcontractor submittals.
