Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern to support standard engineering tasks, design updates, and project duties under lead engineers. You will assist with data entry, documentation, and PowerPoint presentations while contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

The role emphasizes collaboration with campus involvement, strong communication, and the ability to grow within the field. Preference for ABET-accredited programs and a 3.0+ GPA.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active campus/community involvement encouraged.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn and grow within the field.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks applying standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Assist lead engineers with project duties and updating designs.
• Support with filing, scanning, data entry, and presentations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by data collection and analysis.
• Research solutions and present recommendations to problems.
• Engage in ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
